Laxmi Puja Special Khesari Dal / Chana Dal Burfi Recipe
BENGALI TRADITIONAL LAXMI PUJA SPECIAL KHESARI DAL BURFI RECIPE
Bengali means festival. In this winter season new paddy started to arrive. With that goddess laxmi arrive. To welcome goddess laxmi in this happy season many household in purba medinipur area made a special sweet called PAALO. You may not heard about this recipe because this recipe is not that much main stream.This is a very traditional recipe made in laxmi puja in december generation by generation. Paalo is made with chana dal or khesari dal, sugar, coconut and milk.
INGREDIENTS
2 Cup Khesari Dal or Chana Dal
1 n half Cup Sugar
1 Cup Grind coconut
1 Cup milk
2 tsp Ghee
2 Bay Leaves
3-4 Cardamom
HOW TO MAKE
1. Soak dal over night ( 8 hours)
2. Make it into past.
3. Heat a pan and add ghee.
4. Add bay leaves.
5. Add cardamom.
6. Then, add dal past.
7. add coconut.
8. add milk.
9. saute until it get sticky.
10. add cashew nut and raisin .
11. spread it in a flat surface and let it cool.
12. cut into burfi shape and serve.
